Before Hermione was born I set about putting together the perfect layette for her. From swaddles to onesies I wanted to be sure my baby girl came home to a closet stocked with all of the essentials. Luckily for me everything was washed and ready well ahead of time as she decided to burst onto the scene a little early!
My taste in baby clothes is far from the typical pink bows and bunnies. I like to think of Hermione as a little budding fashionista. Hey, someone has to inherit my shoe collection, right?
The majority of clothes in Hermione's newborn wardrobe were from TANE Organics. Not only are their baby clothes supremely adorable, but they are made from 100% certified organic cotton and low impact dyes. She lived in their onesies and swaddles the first month of her life!
Now that Hermione is a bit older and out of her white onesie phase she is enjoying the rest of TANE's gorgeous fall collection! Each vintage circus inspired piece is more adorable than the next!
TANE founder and designer Sheree Lee was kind enough to answer some questions for me about the line and it's origins. Enjoy!

TANE was conceived from the love and passion of the material, organic cotton. While working as a woman's knitwear designer, I came to love designing into this luxurious fiber.
It was a natural connection to create a small capsule of a children's wear, showcasing the versatility of this yarn. The health benefits of using non toxic material that is good for the planet and its people was a conscious choice as the foundation of the brand. I was passionate to design beautifully crafted clothing for children, using the gentlest, purest, most luxurious material.
Where do you find inspiration for each new collection?
As a creative and visual person, I am constantly inspired. Inspiration for me can come from many directions. Most of the time, it finds me rather than me seeking for it.
Are there any must haves or favorites in the F/W '13 collection?
The new FW13 collection was inspired by the nostalgic cinematic mood of the circus. TANE often takes references from timeless and iconic details. I am very passionate about the new saturated colors, illuminating the new collection. The Dot & Stripe Sweater best demonstrate how classic details can become very modern. I love how the hand cut and stitched dots dances along the hem of the Sweater Dress. And I have a fondness for the Star Coverall, also another iconic shape, looking very hip and playful.
