Baby Docking Station

Many of my friends are expecting their second or third babies this winter and there is one question I keep getting asked. Did you discover any new products with Portia you wish you had when Hermione was a newborn? My answer is an unequivocal yes! The DockATot! I purchased this miracle product when I am was pregnant with Portia and I am so glad I did!

The DockATot is a cozy, safe,  portable baby "docking station?" Babies like to be in snug spaces (like the womb). In the early weeks and months a confined space is much more likely to help them sleep than a spacious crib or even a bassinet. When Portia was brand new she would nap in her DockATot on our bed, the floor, the couch.. you get the idea. We would bring it everywhere with us so she had a familiar place to nap. She spent many afternoons and early evenings last summer snoozing in her DockATot while her sister played at friend's BBQs. 

The DockATot was very helpful in easing Portia's transition from swaddle to sleep sack around four months old. Even after we took away her swaddle she still had her cozy nook to sleep in which she found comforting.
