Duchess County Fair Diary

One of my favorite summer rituals with the girls is a visit to the Duchess County Fair. Hermione has been going since she was 2, and we started taking Portia when she was just a baby. Both girls love the rides, food, face painting, and games! This year’s visit was especially fun because we took their big cousins along with us. In the past we have gone during the day and that can get super, super hot. Now that Portia is old enough to handle staying up past her bedtime we opted to go in the evening and stay as it got dark. Something about those rides all lit up is quite magical. We had so much fun we didn't get home until 10pm. There were meltdowns in the car on the way home. Everyone was exhausted the next day and it was well worth it!n Summer is all about late bedtimes in my book! Here are some photos from our very full day and night at the fair!
