Some Mom Advice- Mini Trees for Kids
The other day as I was trolling Instagram I noticed something I had never seen before. A mom friend of mine had gotten each of her kids their own mini Christmas tree for their bedrooms! I was instantly obsessed. What a brilliant idea!
As a design lover I am quite a stickler about what I will allow on my tree. We have a few sentimental ornaments we have collected over the years but mostly I prefer to deck my halls with various simple silver, white and gold balls. However, since the girls were born we have collected quite a few ornaments that don’t quite fit my decor. Disney princesses, glittery cupcakes, singing Santas, oh my! The girls love them but on the tree they kind of make me cringe. Personal mini trees seemed like the perfect compromise! I could keep my glittery, curated tree and the girls could enjoy their “fun” ornaments.
I found these silver tinsel trees and the girls were instantly smitten. They both set about decorating them immediately- the only problem was who got which ornaments! Last weekend we even took a trip to the Union Square Holiday Market specifically for them to pick out a few new ornaments for their trees.
When we pack up our holiday decor the mini trees will certainly be going into the basement to be saved for next year. I know this is a new tradition the girls will look forward to every Christmas!
